This Dussehra, let’s burn what holds us back
Today, as we celebrate Dussehra, I want to share something simple and powerful.
Dussehra is about victory of light over darkness. But for parents, the “darkness” often looks like stress, disconnection, or words we regret saying at home.
So here’s a quick listicle to help you lead your family better starting today:
Burn impatience, plant patience. Breathe before you speak. One calm pause can save an argument.
Burn silence, plant listening. Instead of “hmm,” ask your spouse or child one curious question today.
Burn blame, plant leadership. Lead with “I feel” instead of “You always.” It changes the energy instantly.
Burn distraction, plant presence. Put your phone away for 15 minutes and give undivided attention.
Burn perfection, plant connection. Your family doesn’t need you flawless, just present and steady.
This is the heart of what I call Family Emotional Leadership — love guided by calm, presence, and leadership.
